Charles was also optimizing his Millstone Fortress.
Millstone Fortress had been designed and built back when Charles was a Third Circle Wizard.
Given Charles's strength and vision at the time, the fortress had indeed been quite good.
But looking at it now, it simply would not do. There were loopholes everywhere, gaps everywhere.
It was far too imprecise, far too lacking in any sense of security.
Thus, whenever Charles had spare time, he would begin redesigning and optimizing Millstone Fortress.
The outer walls and their defenses could not be changed much in a short time.
However, he could reinforce the walls and towers by altering these runes.
In the grand hall of the central tower, Charles continued to ponder.
"A Fourth Circle Wizard's most crucial link in combat strength should be a wizard tower."
"A Fourth Circle Wizard with a wizard tower and one without a wizard tower hold two completely different statuses."
Charles thought of his teacher Anderson. Poor Teacher Anderson—how many years would he have to work in Isata before he could build a wizard tower?
At my current rate of earning money in the Abyss, how many years would I need to build my own wizard tower?
And where should I build my wizard tower? In Isata of the Wizard World, or in the Abyss World?
Charles considered it. The Abyss World is too dangerous. It may be profitable here, but I am only a Fourth Circle Wizard, a fourth-rank Greater Demon.
I cannot even be called a demon lord yet. Even demon lords frequently die and are replaced in the Abyss World.
Only more powerful demon grand lords who rule an entire Abyss World can be said to be somewhat safe in the Bottomless Abyss.
