Charles prepared to inject part of a Demon Worm's essence into a rat to see whether any unusual changes would occur.
He took a syringe, drew out a small amount of the worm essence, and approached the rat on the operating table.
Using his mental power to sense the rat's heart, he pinpointed its location with precision.
The syringe pierced through skin and bone, plunging directly into the rat's heart.
Without Neural Numbing, this alone would have made the rat shriek in agony.
But with Neural Numbing, the rat felt absolutely nothing.
A thread of worm essence was injected into the rat's body.
At the wound, Charles used Vegetation Extraction on the plants set nearby, restoring the injury and healing the needle puncture in the heart.
In his previous life, Charles knew that injecting blood of a different type into the body could kill someone.
Not to mention the blood of another species.
But where was this? This was the Wizard World. In some respects, there was no need to follow the rules of his previous life at all.
After all, even Charles now possessed the Succubus Bloodline, while Loran possessed the bloodline of a lesser flame demon.
Even demonic bloodlines could be used by wizards. What else could not happen?
Once the wound in the rat's heart had healed, that thread of injected worm essence began spreading throughout its body with the pumping of its heart.
Demon Worms were not particularly high-ranking. Even the strongest among them possessed energy levels only comparable to a Third-Rank Wizard Apprentice.
The one Charles had summoned this time was even lower-ranking. Though it was essence, there was very little of it.
As this portion of essence flowed through the rat's entire body, changes gradually began appearing in its flesh.
