White River City.
Judging solely by its races and architectural style, White River City was a place unlike any other city in the Heavenly Splendor Domain. Although many wounded, disabled veterans, adventurers, and traveling merchants of every race lived here, the primary race settled within the city was the rarely seen half-fishfolk.
Nearly two hundred thousand half-fishfolk formed White River City's earliest inhabitants.
Their history.
Was said to stretch back several thousand years.
No one could say exactly what era it had been when the ancestors of these half-fishfolk had already settled here.
The native White River half-fishfolk, divided among dozens of different sect clans, all shared a remarkably similar trait: the men were ugly, while the women were beautiful. Regardless of which sect clan they came from, the men all looked bizarre and grotesque, too hideous to behold. Their appearances greatly resembled aquatic fish, shrimp, insects, and monsters, with severe portions of their bodies near-human in form missing. The women were exactly the opposite. They possessed scarcely any of the outward features of fish, shrimp, insects, or monsters; their bodies were closer to human, and with only faint embellishments of fish-like traits, they appeared especially beautiful and captivating.
White River City's architectural style was equally distinctive.
No one could understand why these half-fishfolk loved metal and machinery so much.
Just as they stubbornly married only within their own race, these native half-fishfolk would rather not build houses at all than use anything other than metal to construct their dwellings.
Every shop or building established by half-fishfolk had a name related to metal machinery, such as the Steel Guild, Gear Hotel, Copper Gong Square, and so on. In short, if a shop in White River City did not have a name related to metal or machinery, it was definitely not
