Original Black Day hid within his Tome World, staring blankly for a long while.
Then he gritted his teeth.
He decided to go out and make one last gamble.
Hiding in the Tome World meant his life was safe, but this would be all there was to his life. For a figure like him, a hero of ruthless ambition, women and wealth could not stir his soul. Only power—supreme power—was what intoxicated him. To possess supreme power, one had to possess the strength to command it. Otherwise, everything was empty talk.
As the Western Divine Lord, when Black Day's life had once hung by a thread, he had felt life was precious.
But now that he was safe, he discovered that living on so emptily was even more terrifying. Having lost everything, possessing nothing, living as nothing more than a walking corpse—was that the life Black Day wanted?
Within a few short hours, Black Day reflected on himself no fewer than a thousand times.
He could not endure loneliness for merely a few hours, let alone years, centuries, or millennia... Should he continue hiding away and eking out a shameful existence, or go out and gamble on whether he could turn his life around?
If not for that mysterious force of supreme majesty, Black Day would not have considered it. But after experiencing that majesty, a bold suspicion arose in his heart: that invincible mysterious man might already be dead! He did not know why. Perhaps the ancient great gods had disliked the mysterious man's arrogant ways; perhaps the Trial Grounds themselves possessed some protective force; perhaps it was for some other reason. No matter what, that mysterious man who had swept aside everything and scorned all living beings had surely been destroyed by that sacred power of overwhelming majesty.
