He had nearly turned all of Mount Olympus upside down in his search, yet found nothing.
This left Zeus deeply puzzled. Refusing to believe it, he searched again, but still found nothing.
Meanwhile, a full day had passed, and Typhon finally began to sense that something was wrong.
That powerful force, so captivating that even he could not resist becoming obsessed with it, was rapidly vanishing at an utterly irreversible pace as the day came to an end.
Typhon was instantly seized by shock and fury. He wanted to stop it, yet had no idea how.
He finally realized there was something wrong with the fruit. More than a hundred vicious dragon heads snapped upward, staring fixedly at the white-robed figure before him as they roared in unison with human voices.
"What exactly did you make me eat?"
Theron looked surprised, as though he had no idea what was happening. "It was a One-Day Fruit that could increase your strength. But I forgot to tell you that its effects only last for one day."
"But it's fine. There are no side effects once the time runs out. See? I ate one too."
As he spoke, he seemed to remember something and suddenly looked up. "Eh?! I seem to have forgotten something. Gods who eat this fruit must possess the corresponding divine authority. Otherwise, it's hard to say what consequences there might be."
After saying that, Theron revealed an annoyed expression, as though he had truly forgotten about it.
How could Typhon fail to realize that he had been played? He flew into a near-mad rage. More than a hundred heads let out furious howls, over two hundred arms pounded against his chest at once, and his massive serpent tail crashed fiercely toward Theron with overwhelming force.
The disturbance was too great. Zeus, who had been quietly lurking on Mount Olympus, realized that he had been exposed.
Even though he had yet to find his Thunder Staff, he still had no choice but to go out and fight.
Because he knew this was Typhon's weakest moment, and his best opportunity.
Without the slightest hesitation, Zeus charged out. His muscles bulged as he brought down the pressure of the sky upon that hateful monster and smashed his fist into one of Typhon's heads.
The struck head instantly burst into a cloud of blood. Typhon let out a pained howl, while several nearby heads opened their savage bloody maws and snapped at Zeus with lightning speed.
Zeus had already been prepared for that. Before they could bite him, he swiftly retreated and struck Typhon's body with another punch.
If Typhon had been at his peak, such an attack might not even have pierced his defense. But he was at his weakest now, and his defenses had weakened alongside him. Zeus's punch left that section of his body a mangled mess of flesh and blood.
Driven by pain and fury, Typhon could no longer care about anything else. The monster revealed his most primal savagery and lunged at Zeus.
He did not even notice Theron, who had casually slipped aside and dodged his full-force strike.
At this moment, Theron, who had tricked him, was no longer important. Typhon's mind was filled only with defeating that hateful God King. It was an instinct carved into his very genes.
He had been born for this very purpose!
"Ridiculous Zeus, you secretly infiltrated this place, casting aside all dignity as God King, just to steal back your staff. Yet you are so foolish. How could I possibly forget something so important?"
"After all, I am not like you, you foolish fool blinded by lust!"
Typhon let out a mocking laugh. At the same time, several arms raised a staff crackling with lightning. It was Zeus's Thunder Staff!
The moment he saw the Thunder Staff, Zeus's attention was instantly drawn to it. Without thinking, he rushed to reclaim his thunder.
But Typhon seemed to have anticipated this. Laughing wildly, he had over two hundred arms seize the staff at once.
All his arms exerted force simultaneously, and the staff that symbolized the majesty of thunder was forcibly snapped in two in his hands!
Zeus's eyes nearly split with rage. He roared almost instinctively, "No!"
But Typhon only laughed even more wildly.
"Without thunder, what can you use to fight me? Ridiculous God King, admit your failure. Even the sky no longer supports you!"
"Zeus! You are destined to be defeated by me!" Typhon roared. "This is the price you should pay for your arrogance!"
Almost before Typhon's words had faded, the entire world was plunged into darkness. Thick storm clouds blanketed the sky, nearly covering it completely.
This meant Zeus could no longer draw upon the power of the sky!
The gods in the void could no longer observe the mortal realm either, and they immediately erupted into chaos.
"We must go help the God King!" the beautiful Hera was the first to speak.
Though Hera was the goddess of fertility, she was also formidable in battle, a powerful goddess of war. Given her nature, she was not someone who could sit still.
But Metis, the goddess of wisdom, glanced into the void and said hesitantly, "Perhaps we should wait and see."
She always felt that Theron had not yet used his full strength. Since he had agreed to act, there was no way he would let the outcome turn bad.
Metis feared that intervening rashly now would instead disrupt Theron's plans.
But clearly, not every god possessed her wisdom. Hera cast her a mocking glance and said coldly, "If you want to wait, then wait."
"Sure enough, wisdom is useless in a real battle."
After saying that, she ignored the reactions of the other gods and leaped down from the sky without hesitation, racing toward Mount Olympus.
"This..." Leto, the frail goddess of childrearing, hesitated with an anxious expression. "What should we do?"
No one answered her. All the gods hesitated. Some feared Typhon's terrifying power, some were simply not skilled in battle, and a very few even wished for something to happen to Zeus, so naturally they would not intervene.
Under such circumstances, aside from Hera, not a single god chose to descend and help.
Leto fell silent as well. She was too weak; in a battle like this, there was nothing she could do.
Meanwhile, before Mount Olympus.
The battle between Zeus and Typhon had completely reached its climax.
Typhon had eaten the One-Day Fruit, and his strength in every aspect had greatly declined. He was at his weakest.
But Zeus was not doing much better. The Thunder Staff was gone, Chaos World had not acknowledged him, he had not gained the great power of creation possessed by past God Kings, and now even his authority over the sky had been cut off...
It could only be said that both of them had been weakened in their own ways. For a while, neither could do anything to the other, and they could only brawl fiercely.
The moment Zeus blew apart one dragon head with a punch, Typhon's tail lashed at him. Typhon's entire body was shrouded in blood mist, Zeus was coughing up blood, and the scene was brutally bloody.
When Hera arrived, this was what she saw.
She instantly flew into a rage. Flames of anger burned across her beautiful face as she instinctively prepared to rush forward and help, but before she could get close, she suddenly saw something.
The terrifying monster Typhon had secretly gathered endless chaos power within his serpent tail while Zeus remained completely unaware.
It was power from the abyss of Tartarus. Once Zeus was struck, he would immediately be captured by the abyss and sealed within endless darkness, just like his father Kronos!
Yet Zeus had not noticed the approaching danger. He was still fixated on blowing up heads. He wanted to smash every one of Typhon's heads, believing that would let him defeat the progenitor of all demons.
Hera's eyes nearly split with fury. She opened her mouth to scream a warning, but just as the sound reached her lips, she discovered that someone was faster than her.
A calm, utterly serene voice rang out. It carried no fluctuation, yet it was as though it were issuing an order to the entire world.
That person said—
"Let there be light in this world."
The next moment, the storm clouds in the sky were instantly scattered by a terrifying force. A thick bolt of lightning streaked across the heavens, illuminating the entire world as brightly as day, followed by thunder that resounded throughout the world.
The massive bolt struck Typhon's enormous body viciously. The chaos power gathered on his great tail was directly dispersed by the lightning, while Typhon himself suffered grievous injuries!
How could Zeus possibly let such a good opportunity slip away? He immediately rushed forward and hammered his fists into Typhon's remaining heads, reversing the situation in an instant!
Neither Typhon nor Zeus realized where that lightning had come from. They only assumed that the Thunder Staff's destruction had returned the laws of thunder to the world, and with the skies now covered in storm clouds, it was normal for lightning to strike.
Even Typhon thought himself unlucky, letting out an angry and unwilling roar. Zeus, on the other hand, was overjoyed, believing that Chaos World still favored him, the God King.
Hera witnessed all of it.
The scream at her lips was forcibly swallowed back down. The beautiful Hera stared blankly at the white-robed figure before her, scarcely daring to believe what she had seen.
Thunder! That was the power of thunder!
This mysterious Theron actually possessed the power of thunder! But had the Thunder Staff not already been destroyed by Typhon?
Countless questions filled Hera's heart, but the white-robed figure merely smiled at her, his smile gentle and modest.
"Shh—"
The man placed one finger to his lips in a gesture for silence, then winked at Hera.
In a voice only the two of them could hear, he said, "You won't tell anyone, will you, beautiful goddess?"
"This will be a secret between the two of us."
Hera felt her heart begin to race wildly. Even her breathing became unsteady, and she instinctively looked away, not daring to meet those deep eyes.
Her heart was in turmoil.
Shocking Hera, Just How Strong Are You?
Hera was utterly stunned. The Thunder Staff had already been destroyed, so by all reason, the laws of thunder should have returned to the world. Before a god of thunder was born, no one in this world should have been able to control them.
Yet Theron, that mysterious god of fate, had summoned terrifying lightning with a single sentence!
What terrifying power! The beautiful Hera could not help staring in a daze.
And when Theron smiled at her and told her to keep it secret, Hera's heartbeat seemed to miss a beat, and she unconsciously avoided his gaze.
Still, she was not someone who meddled or talked too much. Before she understood exactly how powerful Theron was, she would not act rashly or discuss him carelessly, lest she bring trouble upon herself.
Seeing Hera be so sensible, Theron was quite satisfied. He continued watching the battlefield, where the situation had been completely reversed.
Typhon, struck by his lightning, was now charred black all over. Not only had the chaos power he had gathered disappeared, Zeus had also taken the chance to launch a fierce assault.
Nearly half of Typhon's heads had been smashed apart. Blood as scorching as magma dripped onto the earth, instantly corroding large patches of land.
Though he had completely fallen into a disadvantage, Typhon still refused to give up. He used glaciers and mountains as weapons, fighting to the death. The intensity of their battle nearly caused heaven and earth to collapse alongside them.
But with the aid of that lightning bolt, Zeus had taken the upper hand and completely suppressed Typhon.
The gods who had also heard the thunder did not know what had happened. They only assumed Zeus had recovered the Thunder Staff and rushed over to support him.
The four wind gods of the east, south, west, and north charged in from all directions, constantly hindering Typhon's massive body. The radiance of the goddess of justice and the goddess of victory flickered in the darkness as they reverently came to Zeus's side to lend him their strength.
Poseidon, god of the sea, used massive waves to slow the steps of Typhon, the progenitor of demons. The earth trembled without end. Hades, king of the underworld, watched the battle from the underworld as the screams and wails of ghosts swirled around him before finally echoing throughout the world.
The sun and moon both shone with dazzling brilliance. The light made it impossible for Typhon to open his eyes, while even his demonic descendants crawling from hell were so overwhelmed that they could only lie prostrate upon the ground.
The god of unrest and the god of fear continuously disturbed the minds of those countless demons. Even Typhon was affected, his steps growing heavy and slow.
Seeing this, Zeus, the God King and embodiment of light, struck Typhon's chest with power capable of shattering time and space.
The earth instantly split open with countless enormous fissures. The gods joined forces to move mountains and bury the heavily wounded Typhon beneath them, sealing him away.
Typhon's unwilling fury and rage caused even the rocks to melt, transforming the place of his imprisonment into an active volcano. This was the later-famous Mount Etna on Sicily.
This volcano was later bestowed upon Hephaestus, god of craftsmen, as his residence. The rage of Typhon, progenitor of demons, became the finest tool for the gods to forge divine weapons.
This was undoubtedly Typhon's greatest humiliation. He struggled to escape his restraints, but was far too weakened to succeed. Looking at the arrogant Zeus in the sky, his remaining fifty-odd heads opened their mouths in unison:
