Theron Again! How Many Goddesses Was He Going to Marry? / Negotiating with the King of the Gods
If one of her future daughters had the protection of a powerful and responsible god, that would probably be a good thing.
Thinking this, she looked at Theron with pleading eyes. She was in too much pain, so much that she was nearly going mad.
"Lord Theron, please do not refuse me. What happened with Athena was a slip of the tongue. This time, I will certainly make up for my mistake."
"Your Majesty, why must you go this far?" Theron sighed. "This truly puts me in a difficult position."
Yet Zeus said sincerely, "The relationship between us deserves this level of consideration."
"Enough, it is settled. I swear again upon my position as king of the gods: if Leto gives birth to a daughter, she shall be betrothed to you. If she does not, I will choose one of my other daughters and betroth her to you."
"Now, I ask you to save my poor wife."
Theron seemed as though he wanted to refuse, but Zeus had already made the decision before asking him. He could only sigh helplessly and point toward a distant island. "Your wife Leto is destined to give birth there."
