Background / History

Ye Feng is an orphaned transmigrator who awakens the Evil Fire Phoenix with innate full soul power. Its power proves fatal rather than immediately advantageous: the evil fire scorches his organs, repeatedly backlashes, and prevents ordinary cultivation. Flender conceals Ye Feng's awakening information and restricts his freedom in an attempt to force him into becoming a disciple. Ye Feng refuses, and Flender abandons him inside a soul-power barrier to die alongside Ma Hongjun's approval. 1

At the brink of death, Ye Feng activates the Gold Trait System and chooses Newbie Journey, Atavism, Twin Awakening, and Upgrade Refund. Atavism evolves his martial soul into the Nether Karma Fire Phoenix, while the Snow Empress—his Title Douluo-level protector from Newbie Journey—uses her ice power to help him survive the transformation. 2 3

He leaves Soto City, acquires his first ring in the Star Dou Great Forest, and later rescues the imprisoned Blue Silver Emperor with the Snow Empress.
