Benjamin ultimately gave up on the idea.
At this point, escaping the Hori Kingdom was no longer their foremost task. Sky's End's secrets, the ghosts hidden beneath the abyss... these were worlds no one before them had ever explored. Besides, compared to an unknown shortcut, taking the long way around was certainly much safer.
"Driving" the ice sphere, he flew along the bottom of the abyss for roughly half an hour. All he saw along the way were countless fissures and ghosts. Occasionally, creatures would be tossed out by the cracks and become food for the nearby ghosts. Before long, such sights had become commonplace.
"H-how much longer are we going to stay in this place? Can't we just fly out?"
Dick had gradually calmed down as well. Yet as he watched those bizarre spirits drifting about—especially the sight of prey caught in illusions being sucked dry into mummified corpses—he still felt an instinctive fear.

For the study of undead creatures, this would be exceptionally valuable material.
That was right—they needed to begin a new line of research as well.
The mage world's research into undead creatures was practically nonexistent, and there was nothing like undead magic, either. Benjamin believed that was because humanity's exploration remained far too limited.
Now that he had discovered a settlement teeming with undead creatures, he had found a stable source of research material. With their current magical techniques, Benjamin might not be able to handle these spirits yet, but in the future... samples of these ghosts
