Assault on Regina

The distance from Locke City to Regina was not far. Ikor's army took only about two days to arrive beneath the city walls, surrounding the entire city on all sides.

"When do we begin the attack?"

After setting up camp outside the city, Benjamin glanced at Regina's tightly shut gates and suddenly asked.

"Tomorrow morning." The chairman answered with a grave expression. "We've already contacted the civilians inside the city. When the time comes, they'll secretly open the gates for us. The Hori Kingdom's main force hasn't made its way around yet. There are only a few hundred men in the city right now—they definitely can't stop us."

Benjamin nodded at that.

Having the civilians' support was a good thing for them as well.

As for the preparations of the Light Slayers, there was only so much they could accomplish in a few short days. Everyone had learned about Grant's methods and practiced some simple coordination with each other. Beyond that, it would depend on their performance in the moment.

Still, Benjamin was fairly confident.

The disparity in numbers was simply too great. The Hori Kingdom only had a few hundred soldiers, not even a fraction of their forces. The so-called Light Slayers did not actually need to kill Grant. They only needed to hold him back for a while, and they would be able to reclaim Regina.

By then, Grant would be outnumbered. No matter how formidable he was, he would no longer be able to throw his weight around.

With that thought, Benjamin took a deep breath, turned around, and returned to his own tent to make his final preparations for tomorrow's battle.

Meanwhile, atop Regina's city walls.

"...They came rather quickly."

Grant gazed down at the army below from afar and muttered to himself.

"Your Holiness, um...
