Surrounded by something bizarre, the bishop could not help cursing under his breath.
He stood with several dozen priests, holding up a shield against attacks from every direction. The other Paladins, priests... had vanished without a trace. They could only raise the crosses capable of countering Mind Arts, summoning a membrane of light to protect themselves within it.
They kept looking around, not even knowing where they were. What they saw was still the forest they had first entered, yet invisible attacks kept emerging from all corners of that deserted woodland. They had suffered heavy losses in the first ambush. If the bishop had not reacted quickly, they might have been wiped out on the spot.
But... their current situation was hardly any better than total annihilation.
"We must have fallen victim to their dark arts, which is why we're seeing these illusions," said one priest.
The bishop snorted coldly without replying.
Was there even any need to say it? They were being battered nonstop by invisible things, while some of their companions vanished for no reason. What else could it be but an illusion? Yet he still found it hard to believe. With the Touch of Holy Light, which could ward off any dark arts, why had they still fallen into an illusion created by their enemies?
There had to be something wrong here.
Trapped here, they had tried to fight back. But they could not even see their enemies. Holy Light Bombs flew out and blasted several trees that might not even have existed, doing nothing to improve their situation.
