With a whoosh, a light thread pierced straight through Benjamin's body, yet it seemed to pass through nothing but an illusion. Leaving no trace behind, it shot off into the distance and vanished at the end of the forest.
Everyone present froze.
Not just them—even Benjamin himself was a little stunned. But once his half-second Void State ended, his battle instincts still drove him to activate the Water Element Domain at once and summon the Water Elemental Sprite, warily sweeping his gaze over the surroundings.
Ultimate Light Thread...
He knew very well who was capable of launching an attack like that.
Sure enough, a robed figure slowly flew out from the shadowy thickets. Grant shook his shoulders and removed a necklace. In an instant, powerful spiritual force burst forth from him. Holy Light formed arcs of radiance that spread outward, arrayed around him like an army guarding its commander.
Benjamin frowned.
Before Grant had removed that necklace, he had not even been able to sense his presence.
"A specially made item that hides one's aura? Interesting. Even I was fooled at the start," the system said with great interest. "Your Magic Item Department really isn't much. After developing for so long, you're still far behind The Church."
"..."
Although the system had just saved his life, Benjamin still did not particularly want to respond to it.
More importantly, Grant had actually followed him all the way here!
"...You knew I would come back to kill you," Benjamin said slowly, his expression grave. "So you waited in Koester for me to return and save them."
However, Grant merely snorted, seemingly in no mood to say more. With a wave of his hand, streams of Holy Light condensed in his palms and swiftly formed several mysterious runes.
You want to fight... Fine,
