The Undead Legion had assembled.
They surged from the cloud-shrouded wasteland, crawled from the split earth, and rose from rotting coffins. Together, they formed a dark tide of death that covered the hills and plains as far as the eye could see.
Countless undead charged toward Sacred Aura's line.
Their numbers were vast enough to blot out the land.
Any ordinary living creature faced with such a sight would have felt a chill out of instinctive reverence for the dead. Even a battle-hardened warrior might have tightened his grip on his weapon.
But Sacred Aura's warriors were anything but ordinary.
Undead?
What was there to fear from that worthless rabble? Just kill them again!
Along Sacred Aura's defensive line, the warriors stood in silence. Their breathing grew heavier, excitement gleamed in their eyes, and they waited eagerly for the undead to arrive.
Boom, boom, boom!
Once the Undead Legion came within range, Sacred Aura's Alchemical Warships opened fire.
Blazing pillars of light swept down from the sky, plowing blackened furrows through the tide of death. Every Undead Life caught within them was vaporized, while those on either side were battered by the shockwaves.
Woooo!
A cold wind howled. Wraiths shrieked.
Liches, Corpse Witches, Skeleton Warlocks, and other undead units moved under a single will. They cast in unison, gathering Negative Energy into black clouds above the legion that blocked or weakened Sacred Aura's ranged attacks.
Energy attacks became far less effective.
The Alchemical Warships quickly changed tactics, firing solid high-explosive shells that punched through the defenses and blasted the undead ranks apart.
Undead Life had its own advantages, though.
Because those solid shells carried less energy, the damage they dealt to the undead was limited.
