Lin Yichen did not take any more detours and went straight to the imperial palace.
The gate to Parasol Tree Courtyard was half-open. When he pushed it open and entered, Xue Qinghe was sitting at the table eating, his chopsticks suspended in midair.
The two stared at each other for two seconds. Xue Qinghe set down his chopsticks, his tone giving away no emotion. "So you still remembered to come back?"
Lin Yichen did not answer him. Instead, he sat down and teased, "So the room you found for me before was actually where you slept?"
Xue Qinghe let out a long breath, ignored him, and continued eating.
"If you have something to say, say it. If you need to fart, fart."
Lin Yichen chuckled, putting away his playful mood and becoming slightly more serious.
"Do you know about what happened in Primordial City?"
"I do."
"The guards at the north gate have been replaced. They have Star Luo Empire Soul Tools tucked at their waists. Your uncle wants to use Star Luo Empire's people to deal with you."
Lin Yichen spoke bluntly, without beating around the bush.
Xue Qinghe did not deny it. "I know. But that is his business. He is the idiot; it is not my job to clean up his mess."
"So how are you going to handle it?" Lin Yichen asked, staring intently at Xue Qinghe.
"Do you need my help? Not Spirit Hall's help—my personal strength."
Xue Qinghe set down his chopsticks and lightly tapped the table twice with his fingers. "Wait. But I do not need your help yet."
"Wait for what?"
"Wait for him to make a move. If he does not move and I move against him, I will be the one in the wrong."
Lin Yichen thought for a moment.
