When Shui Bing'er woke up, she found herself lying on a soft bed, covered by a thin blanket.
She blinked. What met her eyes was not the ceiling of Heavenly Water Academy's resting area.
A faint fragrance lingered in the room.
She turned her head slightly and saw Lin Yichen sitting in a chair by the bed, carefully examining his bamboo flute.
Shui Bing'er recalled carefully. When she collapsed, it seemed someone had caught her in their arms.
After that, she knew nothing.
"Lin Yichen, was it you who saved me?"
Lin Yichen tilted his head and smiled at her slightly bewildered face, but did not answer the question.
Shui Bing'er suddenly felt that she had asked something obvious.
"Um... how long was I asleep?"
Shui Bing'er lowered her head as she spoke, her voice rather weak.
"Not long. It's only been half an hour since the match ended.
There are no matches this afternoon. They're tallying the list of those advancing."
Shui Bing'er tried to sit up, bracing herself against the mattress with her arm, but fell back again. Her limbs were weak and sore.
She looked down at herself. Her team uniform had already been changed, replaced with a loose light-blue robe.
Her cheeks immediately turned red.
"Y-you... changed my clothes?"
Lin Yichen nodded without denying it.
"What else was I supposed to do?"
Then his tone turned somewhat teasing.
"You have a nice figure."
Shui Bing'er's face reddened even more, and even her collarbones were flushed.
She wanted to raise a hand and hit him, but her arm was too weak to lift. She could only glare at him.
That glare held no intimidation at all. Instead, it looked more like she was acting spoiled.
"Y-you took advantage of me..."
"I was saving you."
Lin Yichen spoke with complete conviction, though he sounded like he was shamelessly making excuses.
"You were covered in ice shards, and your clothes were soaked through. If I hadn't changed them, you would've caught a cold."
Shui Bing'er finally could not take it anymore and forcibly raised her already aching hand.
"Have you ever seen an ice-element soul master catch a cold?!"
Lin Yichen: "..."
"Where's my sister?"
At that awkward moment, a clear female voice came from outside the door. The next instant, the door was pushed open.
Shui Yue'er poked her head in. When she saw Shui Bing'er sitting up already, her eyes lit up, and she squeezed her whole body through the doorway.
Then she rattled off a string of words.
"Sis, I rushed over as soon as I woke up. Damn, Yu Tianxin hits way too hard."
"I heard people saying that you were carried off by a guy..."
Shui Yue'er raised her head and sized Lin Yichen up.
"You're kind of handsome. Barely good enough for my sister."
Lin Yichen raised a brow. "Well, thanks, I guess."
Shui Bing'er reached out and tugged on Shui Yue'er's sleeve.
"Stop talking." Her voice was quiet and a little helpless, but she could not suppress the smile at the corners of her lips.
Shui Yue'er looked at her sister's expression, then at Lin Yichen's reaction, and nodded thoughtfully.
"Alright, got it. I'll leave first. You two talk."
Before leaving, she glanced at Shui Bing'er.
Her eyes were full of mischievous amusement.
"Sis, don't be unable to get out of bed tomorrow."
The door closed. The room fell silent for two seconds.
Shui Bing'er's blush, which had just started to fade, instantly deepened again.
"She... she's talking nonsense!"
Lin Yichen ignored her explanation.
He walked to the bedside and bent down, bracing one hand against the edge of the bed beside her. The mattress sank slightly beneath his weight.
"Your sister made a lot of sense."
Shui Bing'er's pupils visibly contracted, and she instinctively shrank back.
"Y-you... don't do anything reckless..."
Lin Yichen ignored her, his gaze lifting slightly.
"You don't get to decide that."
Shui Bing'er froze. Before she could process what he meant, Lin Yichen had already lowered his head and kissed her.
Shui Bing'er stiffened instantly as Lin Yichen slowly pressed her down onto the bed.
His tongue slipped past her lips and into her mouth.
She had never kissed anyone before and was clearly inexperienced.
Yet as Lin Yichen's movements became increasingly bold, she still tried to respond, her small tongue gradually brushing against and tangling with his.
Lin Yichen was caught off guard by her sudden "initiative." A flicker of delight rose in his heart, and he became even more absorbed.
However, Shui Bing'er's occasional soft moans revealed how she felt at that moment.
Soon after, she wrapped both arms tightly around Lin Yichen's neck, pulling him closer.
When the kiss ended, both of them were breathing heavily.
"You like it?"
Lin Yichen's voice was slightly hoarse, his mouth dry.
Shui Bing'er said nothing and nodded.
Then, before Lin Yichen could react, she pulled him back down to her lips...
To hell with it!
Shui Bing'er no longer cared about any of it.
She did not need to be shy. She did not need to restrain herself.
She liked him. She wanted him.
In the silent room, the wet sounds of kissing and their breaths rose and fell one after another.
When it was over, Shui Bing'er gazed at Lin Yichen tenderly.
She raised her hand and undid the buttons of her robe.
"Lin Yichen... have me..."
Lin Yichen could not help touching her chest beneath the loosened collar and swallowed.
At that moment, Shui Bing'er suddenly spoke.
"You said my figure was nice just now... so did you look?"
Lin Yichen blinked.
"I looked at what I should have looked at. I didn't look at what I shouldn't have."
Shui Bing'er finally could not hold it in and secretly laughed.
She raised her hand and took off all her clothes, her robe slipping away.
Her entire body was flawless and fair.
"From now on... look whenever you want, touch whenever you want..."
Shui Bing'er leaned forward and embraced Lin Yichen without reservation, pressing her cool, soft chest against his.
"I already said it, Lin Yichen. Have me. I'm willing, with nothing held back..."
Lin Yichen was, after all, a normal man. Faced with such a scene, he could hardly endure any longer.
The calm restraint he had maintained through sheer willpower finally shattered at that moment.
Driven by a man's instincts, he forcefully pressed her cool, delicate body beneath him.
"From now on... every day..."
"The ring... don't take it off... at least... not at times like this..."
"The sun is setting."
Lin Yichen lay on his side, one hand supporting his head while the other idly traced circles over her collarbone.
Shui Bing'er had just woken up. She narrowed her eyes at him, her gaze unfocused, and it took a long while before her eyes fully settled on his face.
Then the soreness and exhaustion coursing through her body made her let out a soft groan.
"It's all your fault! Now I really can't get out of bed."
Shui Bing'er complained irritably.
He lowered his head toward her earlobe, his lips lightly brushing the curve of her ear.
"You were the one who took off your clothes on your own just now... I'm a normal man. You have to be understanding."
Shui Bing'er's face was like a perfectly ripe peach, flushed and alluring.
She buried her head in the pillow and refused to look at him again, her voice muffled.
"At this hour, your senior sister must be awake already. You should think about how you're going to explain this."
Lin Yichen was slightly taken aback, but before he could react, Chrysanthemum Douluo's voice sounded from outside.
"Lin Yichen, His Highness the Crown Prince has invited us to gather at Moon-Gazing Teahouse tonight. Get ready."
With that, the voice abruptly stopped, and hurried footsteps receded, as though he did not want to disturb the awkward atmosphere.
Shui Bing'er was just as restless, though her body still ached.
"Go get ready already! I'll return to the dormitory by myself later!"
