Ch. 101Spoils
Plot points and events
- After defeating the Temple Warden, Wu Yu examines the five reward Cards: a Treasure Chest Key, three consumables, and blue-grade equipment. He judges the blue equipment replaceable and chooses Divine Oil, which he expects to use soon.
- Wu Yu privately considers whether he could kill a god if he could guarantee his safety, but decides not to join the others in entering the Temple.
- The group divides the rewards: Wu Yu takes Divine Oil and the Key; Liu Yu takes Divine Sound Piercing the Ears; Bai Xiaotian takes the Flesh Mutation Pill; Chen Lingling gets the Silent Belt.
- None of the group wants to risk confronting the Heavenly God and its many warriors at the Temple. Liu Yu gives Wu Yu the Key, reasoning that Wu Yu may have the best chance to use it.
- Instead, the group targets Heavenly God Warriors drawn to the Sinner Incense. They launch a coordinated ambush using explosions, fire, spirit power, and Wu Yu’s buried Bi Fang Talisman.
- The attack kills some warriors and badly wounds many others. As the survivors recover their senses and panic, Wu Yu and his companions charge in.
Character developments and interactions
- Wu Yu shows strategic restraint: he chooses a useful reward, openly refuses the Temple expedition, and keeps his interest in potentially challenging a god to himself. He remains willing to fight when the odds seem manageable.
- Liu Yu is pragmatic and sociable. He proposes a fair division, offers Wu Yu the Key, and redirects the group toward a safer, more profitable target.
- Bai Xiaotian focuses on the Flesh Mutation Pill and later helps lead the attack, displaying a taste for action.
- Chen Lingling is cautious about facing the Temple’s greater threats, but contributes her fan-based spirit-power attack to the ambush.
- The companions disagree over risk but respect one another’s choices, then cooperate in a coordinated strike.
