As soon as Han Xiaodan arrived at the embassy by car, before she could even look around, a well-dressed, elegant middle-aged man came forward to greet her.
The embassy staff member who had brought Han Xiaodan introduced him. "President Han, this is Ambassador Zhang."
Before Han Xiaodan could figure out how she should greet the ambassador, Ambassador Zhang said with a broad smile, "Hello, President Han. We invited you here today because an old friend of yours would like to see you. Time is tight, so let's leave right away!"
Han Xiaodan was even more bewildered. What was going on? Since when did she have an old friend in Moscow...
And more absurdly, if some old friend really wanted to see her, why didn't they contact her directly? Why ask someone else for help and go through such a huge detour?
Honestly, if she hadn't been inside the embassy and known that no one could possibly be pulling one over on her, Zhang Xiaoxi would have suspected this was some kind of scam aimed at her...
After hesitating for a moment, she cautiously asked, "Um... Ambassador Zhang, exactly which friend wants to see me? Is he unable to come out himself?"
Obviously, Ambassador Zhang understood what Han Xiaodan was worried about, and he explained with a smile:
"His identity is rather sensitive, so it truly isn't convenient for him to come forward personally. But you needn't worry. Once I take you to see him, I believe all your questions will be answered."
