The gender ratio among Russians was a little skewed.
There were more women than men!
And before university, they were nowhere near as open as they were in America.
Maybe the freezing weather made it hard for everyone to get "restless"...
Even in university, Wang Ye had known quite a few Russian college students in his previous life, and many of them had never dated.
So it was not particularly strange that Angelina said she had never had a boyfriend.
After all, by Wang Ye's standards of beauty, Angelina was a stunning woman.
But whether Russian boys saw it that way was another matter. After all, her figure was not especially voluptuous...
Russian boys seemed to prefer those fiery, uninhibited hotties!
Still, this was good news for Wang Ye...
Wang Ye did not press the matter. They had only just begun getting to know each other, and being too obvious or going too far would only make her dislike him.
When they reached Building 6, Wang Ye waved goodbye to Angelina and casually asked, "If I want to keep improving my Russian, where should I start?"
Angelina stopped and thought about it seriously.
After all, she already knew Wang Ye's Russian level. It was indeed quite good—probably on par with a local Russian high school student...
At that level, further improvement really would not be easy.
"It's best to talk and chat with Russians more often, and try to make Russian part of your daily life. Actually, there's a very simple way: find yourself a Russian girl as your girlfriend. Hehe," she said with a smile.
Angelina was not the only one who had said something like that.
Quite a few teachers had already mentioned in class that if one wanted to improve their Russian quickly, the best way was to find a Russian "boyfriend" or "girlfriend."
In fact, quite a few international students really did just that...
Wang Ye looked at her with a smile, spread his hands in mock helplessness, and said, "But I haven't had the chance to meet any Russian girls yet. Where am I supposed to find a girlfriend? Hmm... no, that's not right. Isn't there one right in front of me?"
Angelina froze for a moment before she understood what Wang Ye meant.
But she did not take offense. Instead, she said openly, "That won't do. I'm your teacher. Besides, I'm older than you. I'm almost twenty-one, while you're only eighteen, right?"
Wang Ye said casually, "Who cares? There's a saying in China: 'A woman three years older is worth a brick of gold.' It means that in a marriage or relationship, it's better when the woman is a little older than the man."
If that sort of conversation had happened at a school back home, Wang Ye would probably have been in serious trouble.
Harassing a female teacher?
At the very least, he would have received a major disciplinary warning!
But no one here cared. That handsome Latin American guy in their class had also been itching to make a move lately, hoping to pursue Angelina...
Angelina seemed to genuinely consider it for a moment, but in the end, she shook her head.
She looked at Wang Ye and said sincerely, "We still don't know each other very well. It's a little too early to talk about that. How about this? I have a few good friends who study or work in Moscow. When there's a chance, I'll bring everyone together for a meal. Maybe you'll find someone you like who likes you too."
She might not have said or done this for another student.
But Wang Ye was clearly different from ordinary students.
Leaving aside how calm and mature he seemed in both speech and manner, and how pleasant he was to talk to and deal with.
Most importantly, his language skills had already passed muster. He could communicate normally with average Russians.
Besides, although he came from the relatively "poor" country of China, the fact that he could afford to study abroad meant his family circumstances were probably decent.
A high-quality young man like him would be quite sought-after even in Moscow!
After all, there were too many wolves and too little meat here...
That was why Angelina was willing to introduce Wang Ye to her friends and see whether she could make a match.
Wang Ye neither agreed nor disagreed. Instead of continuing the subject, he asked, "Angelina, are you free this weekend? I'd like to invite you over and ask you about something—the issue of choosing a major after graduating from the preparatory program. And I'll treat you to a meal while we're at it."
If he had only said he wanted to invite Angelina over for dinner, she would very likely have refused.
After all, she was a girl, and their relationship had not reached that stage. What would it look like for her to go to a male student's dorm room?
But Wang Ye had found an excuse: he wanted to consult Angelina about choosing a major. That made it difficult for her to refuse.
After all, this was one of a teacher's duties...
The only difference was that Wang Ye was not asking her in her office. He had chosen the weekend, in his own dorm room.
Sure enough, Angelina hesitated, glanced at Wang Ye, and asked, "Wouldn't it be better to come to my office after class?"
Wang Ye shook his head and said with a smile, "There's something else I need to tell you. Starting tomorrow, from Wednesday through Friday, I'll be taking leave to handle some matters, so I won't be able to attend class. A friend is opening a company in Moscow, and I'm going to help out. So I'm only free on the weekend. If it's inconvenient for you to come over, I can go to your dorm instead?"
Angelina hurriedly shook her head and said embarrassedly, "I'm not very good at cooking. Especially since you Chinese students are all so skilled in the kitchen, I'd be even more embarrassed to show off. All right, I'll come over to your place this weekend."
Perhaps that was foreigners' misunderstanding of Chinese people.
Every one of them knew martial arts, and every one of them was a master chef...
Actually, Wang Ye was not planning to cook himself when he invited Angelina over. There was a master chef in the dorm—Song Xiaogang's cooking was far better than his!
And so, they made plans for Angelina to come to Wang Ye's dorm for dinner on Saturday afternoon.
After returning to the dorm, Wang Ye called Little Hu.
He told him that he would be free for the next few days and that they could begin preparing matters for Little Hu's family company!
Little Hu was naturally delighted to hear that.
They discussed it over the phone and decided to first find an office space, then look for companies that handled such matters and leave the company registration procedures to them.
At the same time, they needed to start recruiting several Russian salespeople.
That way, they would have the company's basic structure in place.
Little Hu's family could then start shipping goods under the company's name and send someone over to take over its operations.
These matters were simple in one sense. After all, they did not need to personally run around handling the most complicated company registration procedures; they could leave them to a professional firm.
But they were also somewhat difficult.
Little Hu's family did not want to set up the company inside the big market. That would make the company seem low-end, and they intended to build a brand!
But it could not be too far from the market either. When out-of-town clients came to Moscow, they were used to going to the big market to inspect and collect goods.
Even if they were building a brand and not selling low-end products, it was still more convenient to be as close to the big market as possible...
Finding office space like that would not be easy!
