Land of Fire, Konoha Ninja Village.

A row of connected houses stood in the southern part of Konoha, residences the village had arranged for war orphans.

War orphans were children whose parents had both been Konoha ninja and died in the line of duty. The village would raise them collectively and train them into outstanding ninja once more.

At that moment, inside the Aokawa Clan residence, a young man in an orange short-sleeved shirt looked thrilled. He tossed aside what he was doing and hurried toward the front gate.

"Twelve years... It's finally here!"

"System, what's the beginner mission?"

"Ding! Beginner mission: Please proceed to Konoha Hokage Rock and check in within the time limit!"

"Checking in will grant system rewards!"

Konoha Hokage Rock was a sacred place within the village. It stood behind the Hokage Office in the northern part of the village, engraved with the faces of Konoha's past Hokage.

It was also the beginning of his rise.

Twelve years ago, Li Tianming had accidentally transmigrated into the Nine-Tails Attack in Konoha Year 48. He became the child of Qingchuan Daihui, a chūnin. The Qingchuan couple had died during the Nine-Tails incident, making Li Tianming a war orphan.

"Hokage Rock is ahead. We can't go any farther," one ninja in the team said cautiously.

"What are you afraid of? We came to Konoha with a mission," another masked ninja snorted. "ANBU ninja won't be stationed here in large numbers."

"Idiot. Do you know who's inside?"

"Of course I do. Konoha's Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi."

"Enough arguing." The leading ninja said displeasedly, "Our mission is to investigate Konoha Village. We must not alert them. Be careful in everything we do!"

"As for Konoha's Hokage? Provoking him could very well mean there's no return!"

Once the leader spoke, the others fell silent. In truth, they had merely been talking tough. Which village's Kage was not a powerhouse of their era?

"Move!" At the leader's command, all five vanished into the forest in an instant.

At the same moment, after immense effort, Tianming finally reached the top of the Fourth Hokage's head.

"Congratulations, Host, for reaching the check-in location. Check-in is now officially starting!"

"Duration: ten seconds. Leaving midway will result in mission failure!"

Hearing the system's voice, Tianming was delighted.

But just then, the sound of something slicing through the air rang out above him. Tianming looked up and saw five dark figures diving down.

An enemy attack? Tianming's heart skipped a beat. The northern part of Konoha Village had no defenses, since this was also where the Hokage lived.

As the five masked ninja in the sky surveyed the terrain, they immediately spotted Tianming standing atop Hokage Rock.

"Someone's up there. The plan has changed!"

A low shout rang out as dense chakra surged from the five of them, allowing them to stand suspended in the air.

"Doesn't matter who it is! Kill them all!" The leading ninja flung out his right hand, sending three shuriken hurtling toward Tianming.

In their eyes, dealing with a child from Konoha Village only took a single shuriken.

At that critical moment, a massive amount of chakra erupted from Tianming's body. The chakra pressed outward, crushing the incoming shuriken into dust.
