He was no longer observing it from outside; he was now inside it.
From within, the factory was immensely spectacular.
Every thread block was a building-tall mechanical arm. There were so many that he could not see the end of them at a glance. They stood in neat arrays, moving through the air in an orderly fashion, the currents they stirred making the air itself tremble.
Below his feet lay dense conveyor belts, where countless glowing data blocks sped along. Occasionally, several data blocks collided, producing brief flashes of electricity before vanishing without a trace.
Overhead were layered shared-memory storage compartments. Each one took in and output data at astonishing speeds, data flowing in and out like breathing.
The entire scene was stunning, but under such close scrutiny, many unreasonable aspects became glaringly obvious.
Several giant compute cores still had plenty of empty capacity, yet the data blocks were jammed on the conveyor belts and could not get in. Those compute cores were all spinning uselessly at high speed.
Several neighboring conveyor belts were completely empty, yet a few mechanical arms kept shoving all the data onto one belt that was already piled full. When they could not fit any more, the arms simply hung blankly in midair without moving.
In computer science terms, this was thread blocking.
Han Luyi watched carefully for a while, with only one thought in his mind.
It was a miracle this factory could run at all.
