San Francisco, Moscone Center.

Ryan Miller had barely stepped out of his car when he noticed that the treatment he was receiving today was distinctly different.

In the past, when he attended events like this, only two or three cameras would usually turn toward him as he got out. Most people would be waiting for the next car.

Sam usually arrived later.

Today, however, almost every camera was aimed at him. As he walked down the entrance corridor, reporters were already impatiently firing questions at him.

"Mr. Miller, what do you think about Atlas surpassing OpenAI in developer satisfaction?"

"Mr. Miller, do you think MCP will become the interaction standard of the AI era?"

"Mr. Miller..."

Ryan did not stop. Wearing his standard public-facing smile, he waved to the surrounding reporters and strode toward the venue.

Once he entered, a staff member wearing an ID badge hurried over, slightly out of breath.

"Mr. Miller, I'm terribly sorry, but we'd like to make a small adjustment to the schedule and push your keynote back an hour, making it today's closing session. Would that work for you?" Ryan had no objection, of course.

His talk had originally been scheduled second to last in the main hall, which should already have drawn one of the largest crowds.

But the closing keynote came after all the breakout sessions had ended. It was the truly important speech.

Normally, with OpenAI in attendance, that slot would never have gone to someone from Nexus AI.

Today was different.

Ryan glanced down at the revised schedule the staff member handed him. OpenAI's keynote on multimodality was now second to last in the main hall, in his original time slot.

Apparently, the organizers had swapped their positions.

"Did OpenAI request the change?" Ryan asked,
