"Thank you for understanding, Director," Han Luyi said.
Director Yu nodded.
"Difficulties are perfectly normal in research and development. You can discuss them with our experts more often."
"But we haven't run into difficulties," Han Luyi said. "We revised our materials at the last minute because our progress exceeded expectations. The next stage of our research may change quite substantially."
"Oh?" Director Yu asked curiously. "That sounds like good news. Then what stage has your training research based on the L100 reached?"
"We've already finished it."
The moment Han Luyi said that, everyone looked at him. Even the older experts who had been studying the materials looked up.
"What?" Director Yu wondered if he had misheard.
"The day before yesterday, we successfully completed large-scale post-training for Glutinous Rice Ball 1.0 on the cluster of 1,024 domestically produced L100 computing cards we deployed at the Zhangjiakou Cloud Horizon Data Center," Han Luyi said. "In other words, our training research based on the L100 is complete."
His expression was utterly serious.
"Boss Han, this is no place for jokes." Director Yu's voice grew lower. "As I said, we have expectations for companies' research progress. We can accept slow progress, but we cannot accept deception." Those were harsh words.
Even without activating Sight, Han Luyi knew where the problem lay.
He had taken too big a step forward, and now nobody believed him.
He could hardly blame the people in the room for reacting that way. The country had suffered badly in the past over those words: domestically produced chips.
Many of those present had personally lived through the Hanxin scandal.
So much time had passed, yet its lingering effects remained to this day.
"Boss Han, you say you've already achieved a technological breakthrough. Do you have any evidence?" Director Yu asked gravely.
