Han Luyi's eyes widened.
At that moment, he looked exactly like a high school student who had just been caught dating behind his parents' backs.
"Mom, why are you suddenly bringing this up?"
If Zhou Min had only been seventy or eighty percent certain before, Han Luyi's reaction now made her one hundred percent sure.
A hint of smugness appeared on her face.
"I've caught more students secretly dating than you've eaten grains of salt. You think those little tricks can fool your mother?" Zhou Min said. "You used to talk about work whenever you called. After you started your business, you stopped talking about work, and it seemed like you had nothing left to say. Lately, you've been calling less often, but you sound so happy every time. Didn't you tell me last time that you went to an art exhibition? Would you go somewhere like that alone?"
Han Luyi listened in awe.
No wonder people said women were born detectives. His mom was no exception.
He hadn't deliberately kept it a secret. They had only been dating for a month, and it hadn't seemed necessary to rush to tell his family.
Han Luyi looked embarrassed. Back in high school, his mom had guarded against teenage romance like a hawk. He hadn't expected that, so many years after graduation, his very first relationship would still be discovered rather than announced.
"Mom, I wasn't deliberately keeping it from you. We only just started dating. I hadn't gotten around to telling you yet."
Zhou Min looked eager for gossip. "Then tell me, is it that young Miss Su from earlier?"
"Huh?" Han Luyi hurried to deny it. "No, Mom. Nian Nian and I are just business partners."
Nian Nian? That sounded awfully affectionate.
Zhou Min gave Han Luyi a suspicious look.
