Nature and Properties

Heavenly Flames are exceptionally rare flames with origins, abilities, and destructive potential far beyond ordinary beast flames or battle-qi flames. Their power varies greatly according to their rank, age, accumulated energy, and source. 9 205

The Green Lotus Core Flame develops beneath the earth: it gains spirit after ten years, takes form after a hundred years, and becomes a lotus after a thousand years. At maturity, it can trigger volcanic eruptions near volcanic regions. 9

Different Heavenly Flames originate from different natural forces. Three Thousand Burning Flame condenses from star power and can continuously regenerate so long as star power remains present, while Fallen Heart Flame exists within Jia Nan Academy’s magma world as a flame serpent. 86 210

Refining a Heavenly Flame normally requires three supporting items:

• Blood Lotus Pill
• Ice Spirit Cold Spring
• Spirit-Absorbing Stone 6

A cultivator whose strength overwhelmingly exceeds a flame’s may forcibly subdue it, but Qin Chen considers this unsafe before reaching sufficient strength. 6

Sealing and Storage

• A specialized sealing technique can store any of the last ten ranked Heavenly Flames inside a Storage Ring without the flame destroying the ring. 69
• Without such a method, direct containment through personal strength requires at least the level of a Dou Zun. 69

Fusion remains extremely dangerous:

• Two Heavenly Flames within one body can reject one another violently rather than merge, as happened to Heavenly Flame Venerable when he attempted to possess two Fallen Heart Flames. 88
• Qin Chen’s incomplete Flame Mantra allows the Green Lotus Core Flame to devour other flames, but instability appears after it incorporates three Heavenly Flames. 74 110

A refined Heavenly Flame contains immense accumulated energy and can dramatically increase a cultivator’s strength while purifying their battle qi. Qin Chen rises from Five-Star to Seven-Star Dou King after refining the Green Lotus Core Flame. 11
