Treasures of the Immortal Realm

In Impermanence and Nonexistence Heaven, on Azure Dragon Mountain, ancient trees and green vines flourished amid an abundance of Dao resonance.

When True Lord Xuan Qiong manifested his true form and plucked a strand of Wondrous Azure Light of Impermanence and Nonbeing, True Lord Yingling was startled out of seclusion. The Impermanence Sect's Grotto-Heaven was incomplete to begin with. Only True Lord Xuan Qiong's heaven-supporting art kept it running, and even then, barely. Under those circumstances, Impermanence and Nonexistence Heaven could still produce heavenly materials, but far less efficiently than a normal Grotto-Heaven. Each time one was taken, the Grotto-Heaven shook, hindering its development.

In fact, the Impermanence Sect's heavenly materials came mainly from two sources. The first was the Wondrous Azure Light of Impermanence and Nonbeing naturally nurtured by its Grotto-Heaven. The second was gathered from the outside world. Heavenly materials could arise beyond Grotto-Heavens too, but their appearance was far less predictable, and obtaining one depended heavily on fortune—like the Water Spirit Pearl Jiang Chen had acquired.

For that reason, most cultivators with a chance of breaking through to the Celestial Phenomenon Realm received materials of the second kind from the sect, as the Eyeless Daoist once had. Only when a true Dao seed reached that point would the Impermanence Sect readily grant them Wondrous Azure Light of Impermanence and Nonbeing.

This heavenly material might not have been the most wondrous of them all, but it was exceptionally well suited to the Impermanence Sect's inheritance. Cultivators of any of its three great Dao scriptures could use it to forge their Dao Bodies and ascend to the Celestial Phenomenon Realm.
