Hu Jia
Following Hu Gan into the academy, Xiao Yan noticed that unlike the Inner Academy, the students here were generally younger. There was less vegetation and more of the atmosphere of everyday life. After all, the Outer Academy was not located in a forest; it was closer to where people lived.
Ever since entering the academy, Xiao Yan had felt as though he had returned to his school days in his previous life. Seeing teachers explaining lessons at the front of the classroom while students listened attentively below, he felt a sense of familiarity. Though they were no longer teaching language arts and mathematics, it still felt warm to him. Both were academies, yet the Inner Academy could no longer truly be called one. It was more like a small society. There were no classes or formal instruction; everyone cultivated independently, and even daily life had to be handled on one's own. It was unlike the Outer Academy, with its classrooms and many classes.
Following Hu Gan through the teaching area and into the dormitory district, Xiao Yan felt both delighted and nostalgic along the way. At the same time, the longing in his heart grew even deeper.
"We're here. This is my home. Let's go in and have some tea first," Hu Gan said warmly.
Looking at the courtyard before him, Xiao Yan did not decline and readily agreed. "Then I'll gladly accept your hospitality."
"Haha... good. Let's go in."
The moment they entered the courtyard, a crisp voice rang out. "Grandpa, you're back!"
Before the words had even faded, Xiao Yan saw a beautiful figure leap into Hu Gan's arms. Hugging him, she said happily, "Grandpa, why are you back so early? I was so bored all by myself."
"Hehe... my dear granddaughter, did you miss me?"
