Wu Pifu had no choice.
He couldn't possibly watch Jiujiu die!
Within the "Weekend," any death caused a Lost effect, making you forget your memories, forget your past, even forget that this was the "Weekend," and so on. Once it passed a certain critical point, you would become completely lost within the "Weekend," never able to return to the real world.
Moreover, this Lost effect varied from person to person.
The stronger one's will and the richer one's memories and experiences, the more times one could die. Those who were simple-minded and timid, with fewer memories and experiences, could die fewer times and were more likely to become lost.
Even if Jiujiu possessed intelligence and might even count as some sort of fairy, she wasn't very old and didn't have many memories or experiences. Just testing the waters by calling her Dog Egg had enraged her, so she probably wasn't particularly strong-willed either.
Wu Pifu didn't dare gamble on how many times Jiujiu could revive, or whether the environment after her revival would be even worse.
There was only one thing he could do...
Raise his fists!
Fight!
Otherwise, what was the point of becoming stronger?
Otherwise, what was the point of practicing Chinese martial arts!?
After killing two "employees" in two moves, Wu Pifu roughly understood the situation in this "Weekend."
These "employees" could transform!
When Wu Pifu killed the second one, its muscles had already become tougher than those of an ordinary human, though not to an outrageous degree.
Meanwhile, the faces of the dozens of "employees" in the surrounding area began to distort slightly, and their bodies grew a little larger, though they basically remained humanoid.
"So the more I kill, or the greater the disturbance I cause, the more their 'true form' reveals itself?"
Wu Pifu silently watched the dozens of "employees" closing in around him. He quickly concluded that the more killing there was, the more reality would reveal itself. If ordinary people came here, then even if they hid and cowered, once they killed the humans on the conveyor belts, the accumulated slaughter would gradually let them see the truth, triggering changes in these "employees."
As the "employees" surrounded him, Wu Pifu observed not only them, but also the workshop area.
The layout was enclosed on all sides. To get from the slaughter area to other sections, one had to pass through a metal door, and those doors could be shut and barred from the inside.
At the same time, the factory was extremely noisy due to the assembly-line conveyor belts. Unless the entire area exploded, it would basically be impossible to alert the other sections... Unless these monsters possessed some supernatural means of communication, slaughtering all the monsters in this area wouldn't trigger a factory-wide rampage anytime soon.
Once he understood this, Wu Pifu hooked his foot and swept the boning knife held by one of the "employees" he had killed into his hand. Then he kicked again, sending the steel fork into the conveyor belt carrying the "sheep."
At that moment, one "employee" was already less than three meters away from Wu Pifu. It gave a muffled grunt, raised the steel clamp in its hand, and charged at him.
Facing the clamp and the charging "employee," Wu Pifu shifted slightly aside, evading both by a hair's breadth. He lightly drew the boning knife upward at an angle. As he slipped past that "employee," he didn't even look back and headed straight for the next one.
That "employee" took several more steps forward, still trying to move, but its upper body slid diagonally to the ground, spilling organs and flesh everywhere.
At the same time, Wu Pifu faced the second "employee." Its body was rapidly changing, swelling slightly again and gaining roughly one or two centimeters in height. The change wasn't major, but it was obvious upon close inspection.
But since he had already made his move, Wu Pifu didn't hesitate. The boning knife in his hand shifted from a slash to a thrust. The instant the tool in that "employee's" hand had just risen, Wu Pifu gave a diagonal hop and drove the knife down through its left shoulder. He twisted his wrist, and when he landed again, the "employee" crumpled to the ground.
At the peak of Hidden Force, one could be called the equal of a hundred men even on the battlefields of ancient times—a second-rate general. In a small armed brawl like this involving only dozens of people, one could even rival a first-rate general!
And these weren't historical generals, but generals from Dynasty Warriors!
As Wu Pifu killed another two people, bringing his total to four "employees," the remaining "employees" clearly became more frenzied. Their pace quickened as they charged him without regard for anything, not even showing any instinct to avoid the boning knife. Wu Pifu gave a low roar and shook his whole body. Blood and qi filled his dantian, and his strength, speed, and reaction time all surged. Every swing of his hand carried nearly a thousand kilograms of force. Even without a sharp weapon, merely striking or touching flesh with that power would inflict tremendous damage, let alone with a pointed boning knife in his hand.
For a time, blood and gore filled the air. None of the "employees" could last even a second before Wu Pifu. One "employee" lunged directly at him, and Wu Pifu thrust out his knife. Without looking, he immediately retreated. A single step carried him three or four meters away, and several "employees" crazily pounced onto and crushed the spot where he had been standing. Had he retreated half a second slower, he would have been swarmed and chopped into paste.
This wasn't some martial arts movie. How could enemies possibly come at him one at a time, like Calabash Brothers saving Grandpa, letting him knock them down one by one?
They would definitely swarm him, especially monsters like these, fearless of death and unwilling to avoid even blades. They would simply use their bodies to crush, crowd, and knock him down. The slightest hesitation meant the difference between life and death.
In such a situation, forget someone at the peak of Hidden Force. Even a Transformative Force master who dared to charge head-on would certainly die. Only someone who had reached Elixir Force, whose body had begun to undergo a complete transformation, might be able to confront them directly.
Wu Pifu understood this perfectly. Boning knife in hand, he darted wildly between the assembly lines, tools, and machinery.
Although the enemies feared no death and numbered in the dozens, their sheer numbers made them crowded. They tripped over and blocked one another. As long as Wu Pifu made sure he wasn't cornered or blocked by more than five "employees" at once, then when facing only two or three of them, he could instantly erupt with force, stab or sever one or two, then dash away again.
His speed was nearly double that of these monsters, his strength was at least three times greater, and his reaction speed exceeded theirs by four or five times. Under such circumstances, their numbers were no longer a problem... unless these "employees" continued transforming, revealed their original forms, and became even stronger!
Wu Pifu leaped onto a shelf. Behind him, two "employees" whose appearances and bodies had already begun to turn inhuman charged toward him. The metal shelf bent under the impact, while Wu Pifu flipped over its top and jumped down, stabbing twice with the boning knife and hitting both monsters in the head. But the moment he landed, a bone-crushing hammer swung in from his side. It was incredibly fast; by the time the sound of it cutting through the air reached him, it was already beside him.
Wu Pifu had nowhere to dodge. The instant the bone-crushing hammer reached him, he held the boning knife upright against the side of his arm, curled that arm, and erupted with blood and qi, using it to block the hammer head-on.
With a dull bang, Wu Pifu was sent flying three or four meters. The skin on his arm turned dark purple, and his bones throbbed with pain. But after sensing it slightly, he still breathed a sigh of relief. Other than muscle damage, his bones weren't broken.
He turned to look toward where the bone-crushing hammer had come from. Three monsters stood there: a pig-headed man, a dog-headed man, and a frog-headed man. All were over two and a half meters tall, while the pig-headed man stood around two-point-seven meters, its body as broad and thick as at least two adult humans.
The frog-headed man had thrown that bone-crushing hammer.
Only those three "employees" remained in the entire slaughter area, and they had finally completely transformed into their original forms.
Wu Pifu stood still, circulating his blood and qi as he watched the three monsters approach from directly ahead and from both sides. He silently calculated the distances between them. When the pig-headed man was still five meters away, he suddenly kicked the bone-crushing hammer at its feet toward it. Borrowing the recoil from that kick, he tapped the ground with his other foot and lunged toward the weakest of the three monsters, the frog-headed man.
The pig-headed man reached out with one hand and firmly caught the bone-crushing hammer. But in that brief delay, Wu Pifu had already rushed before the frog-headed man. As it reached for him with both hands, he held the boning knife in one hand and extended the other into a claw. His Tiger Demon Claw struck the web between the frog-headed man's thumb and forefinger, clamping down hard. His fingers sank deep into the flesh of its palm, then he seized the tendons and bones there and yanked down with all his might, pulling the frog-headed man's upper body level with his own.
The next instant, Wu Pifu thrust the boning knife sideways, driving it in through the side of the frog-headed man's huge head and piercing straight through its spine. He had only enough time to pull out the knife before immediately turning around, raising both arms to protect his head and hunching slightly. Behind him, the dog-headed man had already pounced in front of him, its huge maw snapping toward his head. With a crunch, it bit down on his arm.
Wu Pifu didn't even frown. He loosened the bitten arm, letting the boning knife fall from its hand. His other uninjured arm reached out and caught it, then he thrust upward, driving the knife in through the dog-headed man's lower jaw and deep into its brain. He twisted his wrist. When the dog-headed man's jaws loosened, he didn't even have time to retrieve the boning knife. He merely threw his head back and flipped away, barely evading the bone-crushing hammer smashing in sideways. The dog-headed man's upper body before him was pulverized by the hammer.
When Wu Pifu rolled to his feet, a boar-man stood three meters directly before him. Its whole body was black, with a wild boar's head, massive tusks, bristles standing tall, and a height of at least three meters. It snorted heavily at him.
"Idiot, that's a boar demon! It has at least fifty years of cultivation! Run!"
Jiujiu, with her emerald-green hair, was half-crouched by the edge of a distant conveyor belt, shouting in terror.
Wu Pifu said nothing. He merely circulated his blood and qi, but the route was completely different from before. Rather than passing through his dantian, it traveled up his spine all the way to the spiritual platform.
If the Main Brain's personal information interface had been displayed at that moment, it would have clearly shown the negative backlash rate in Wu Pifu's sea of consciousness rising madly.
Four percent, five percent, six percent...
When the negative backlash rate in his sea of consciousness reached ten percent, Wu Pifu closed his eyes, raised his head, and let out a furious roar. When he opened his eyes again...
His eyes were already completely blood-red!
