The Killing Begins

Wu Pifu suddenly understood.

The Heavenly Dao of the Mountain and Sea Realm had issued a kill-on-sight bounty against Divine Venerable Daiyu, along with resistance missions for any subsequent invasions by Divine Venerable Daiyu and her forces. Should anyone manage to kill Divine Venerable Daiyu, the Heavenly Dao would reward them generously with such prizes as a share of the world, allowing them to become the world's second master.

When the Heavenly Dao of the Mountain and Sea Realm issued the mission, it also provided extensive information, including details on the target and the rewards.

The rewards were nothing more than shares of the world, which entitled one to dividends from all manner of resources—reality, heavenly treasures and earthly riches, or even direct empowerment of one's strength. To Wu Pifu, it was much like receiving stock dividends from a corporate group. Nothing special.

What truly opened Wu Pifu's eyes was the information on Divine Venerable Daiyu.

The information provided by the Heavenly Dao of the Mountain and Sea Realm classified Ascendant Bodies into five ranks. Though it did not explain the names or differences between those five ranks in detail, it stated that Divine Venerable Daiyu was at the third rank—the rank of Extremity—comparable to a root source at the level of Dream World 0.2.

Before this, Wu Pifu had thought there were only two kinds of Ascendant Bodies: ordinary Ascendant Bodies and Ultimate Path Ascendant Bodies. Although he had glimpsed the enormous difference between Nine Infants and that Golden Arhat from before during their battle, he had not given it much thought at the time.

Only after receiving this infusion of information from the Heavenly Dao of the Mountain and Sea Realm did he learn that Ascendant Bodies were not limited to ordinary Ascendant Bodies and Ultimate Path Ascendant
