One slash rose, and one slash fell.
In that brief gap within Superbrain World, Wu Pifu's blade cleaved through all the chaos before him, cutting Nome and the two Ascendant Bodies beside her in two as well. At the same time, the purple-black aura around the metal giant spread upward, decaying their bodies along the annihilated traces left by the slash.
When Superbrain World ended, the severed bodies of the two Ascendant Bodies flashed madly everywhere except for the annihilated portions, desperately trying to split apart and reassemble.
Originally, the true-damage annihilation effect within five steps of Wu Pifu only affected the part he struck. For ordinary beings, having one's head or heart annihilated meant certain death. But Ascendant Bodies practically had no vital points. Unless their entire bodies were annihilated or their perfect traits were broken, it was very difficult to kill one.
When Wu Pifu's blade fell, the portions of Nome, the giant tree Ascendant Body, and the other two Ascendant Bodies that had been struck naturally began to annihilate without question. Yet as the purple-black aura spread upward, their otherwise intact parts actually began to decay, wither, and succumb to poison. The two Ascendant Bodies screamed as the corrupting poison eroded and shattered them. Something indescribable seemed to pierce out from their fragments and attempt to flee, only to be intercepted by the Tree of Life, which was on the verge of collapse. At once, two masses of true spirit, far more radiant than those of ordinary mortals, fell into the Tree of Life, immediately stabilizing its nearly shattered
