"E Civilization is not an ancient civilization."
Wu Pifu read that line in the files dozens of times.
Ancient civilization.
Back in the Lost Lands, Wu Pifu had heard this term several times. According to the civilization members who had planned to leave the Lost Lands with him, ancient civilization did not simply refer to one or several very old civilizations. It was not about time, but strength—or rather, level.
When a civilization had endured its fall from the Absolute True Layer, endured all manner of pollution disasters, endured the foundational catastrophes of the lower levels, endured self-destruction traps... and so on, it gained the foundation to become an ancient civilization. But that was merely the foundation and prerequisite. It also had to meet three major conditions.
First, a lucid Origin had to be born within the civilization to shelter it.
Second, the civilization's extraordinary path had to be complete, allowing its individuals to rise step by step until they reached Ascendant Bodies, with a ladder leading upward.
Third, and most importantly, the civilization's ordinary individuals had to survive the dormant periods and continue to be born and grow in a cycle, without going extinct.
In fact, Wu Pifu had already learned that among Dream World layers at 0.3 and below, the countless Origins hidden in the darkness no longer had civilizations to call home. Their former civilizations had been reduced to themselves alone, and most of them had long since lost all sanity. Most of the time, they were merely mindless, senseless monsters. Even when they occasionally regained clarity for an instant, nothing but endless pain awaited them.
Only a very small number of civilizations could continue to exist after giving birth to Origins, surviving below the 0.3 level
