Wu Pifu's casual slash carried the weight of a thousand jun. Even without the Deathbound Saber's three major enhancements in this world, it was not something ordinary beings could withstand.
Yet this many-armed, many-headed monster blocked it with an ordinary stone axe. Its strength was exactly equal to Wu Pifu's—not a fraction more, not a fraction less. After one clash, the two actually ended up locked in a stalemate.
But after only an instant of deadlock, as if Wu Pifu had long known that the monster's strength matched his, his palm trembled slightly and the blade whirled. The huge stone axe immediately slid aside, exposing the monster's center. The Deathbound Saber swept forward, only to be blocked at once by a spear in another of the monster's arms. Its reaction speed was equally astonishing.
But Wu Pifu's forward slash had been a feint. He shifted sideways on one foot, stepped diagonally forward, and pressed in, actually advancing beneath the monster while brushing past its spear. Even so, the monster continued attacking. The primitive weapons in its many arms came crashing down on Wu Pifu all at once, but it had already lost the initiative. The Deathbound Saber transformed into streaks of blade light and slashed upward repeatedly. In but an instant, the monster was cut into dozens of pieces, its entire body scattering across the ground in fragments.
The entire exchange had taken less than a second, and Wu Pifu had already slain the monster. Yet the battle in that brief interval had been so intense that onlookers could not even see it clearly.
Immediately afterward, the monster's fragments dissolved into life energy carrying a pitch-black negative aura and vanished. Wu Pifu stood beside them, staring intently. He was certain that this negative life energy had directly dissipated into nothingness
