Shattered Domain, contamination-rich zone...
Outsiders might not understand the Shattered Domain. They merely saw it as a gathering place for fragments and wreckage of the Dream World, something like an asteroid belt or meteor belt in the greater universe, only bizarrely vast in scale.
But in truth, the Shattered Domain had elevations and depressions, as well as complex environments. What determined those differences and environmental complexities was the so-called contamination level—the contamination of the Contamination Source.
The surviving remnants of civilizations that had lived in the Shattered Domain for a long time, along with certain solitary individuals, were familiar with and had mapped out its contaminated regions. The higher the contamination level, the greater the danger, but the richer the resources. Those resources were so-called extraordinary resources—heavenly treasures and earthly marvels in conventional terms. After all, extraordinary power equaled contamination, and high-value relics often accumulated in such regions as well.
Conversely, regions with low contamination were where the remnants of various civilizations hid and survived.
Although the Containment Civilization had established a containment base in the Shattered Domain, it had only been for the purpose of containing the Omniscient Sphinx. They had not conducted particularly deep research into the Shattered Domain, nor had the main body of the Containment Civilization retreated into it, so their understanding of the place remained superficial... In truth, had the Containment Civilization survived a little longer, it might have explored the Shattered Domain as well. Unfortunately, that civilization had been far too reckless. After several successive major incidents, only its final civilization individual remained.
That aside, an even more exaggerated and unimaginable space of ultra-high contamination density had now formed within a contamination-rich region of the Shattered Domain, and it continued to expand.
