Yet under the Bodhi Fruit's protection, they could do nothing to him for the time being. Still, the Bodhi Fruit was rootless wood, water without a source, continuously being depleted. His essence had condensed into human form, clutching an Extraordinary Crystal now only the size of a thumb. His companions and little animals were stored within it, though he had no idea how they were doing now.
As for the outside world, he had no idea where this body had come from or why it contained hazy memories he could sense. He could see, hear, and touch, but he could not control the body. He even had to be led by the hand to walk; otherwise, he could only stand there blankly without moving.
Watching a group of inhumanly dressed, inhumanly moving people who screeched and howled like monsters, Wu Pifu was frantic, but he could not control his body.
There were around thirty of them, a mishmash that was neither cyberpunk, scavenger, nor biker gang—perhaps all three, perhaps none. Screeching and howling, they charged over. A few of those wearing the most metal scraps rode ramshackle vehicles. They resembled motorcycles somewhat, except they had no handlebars and looked more advanced. Yet paired with their battered appearance, they looked exactly like the lowlife punks from some ancient post-apocalyptic fighting manga Wu Pifu had once read.
