Without another word, Wang Qiuer led her team out of the Pokémon Center and plunged straight into the dense grass outside Moon Mountain.
"Enemy encountered! Enemy encountered!"
As the battle music started, a level 6 wild Rattata sprang out of the grass.
Following their agreed-upon method of having veterans carry newcomers, the first to take the field was the Magikarp she had just bought for five hundred bucks.
"Go! My future deep-sea overlord!" The red-and-white Poké Ball opened, and Magikarp flopped onto the grass. Its lifeless fish eyes stared listlessly at the Rattata across from it before it flailed around twice on the spot, accomplishing absolutely nothing.
Just as Rattata bared its front teeth and prepared to use Tackle, Wang Qiuer immediately selected the "Pokémon" option and chose to switch.
"Good work. You've already done your part by scaring the enemy. Come back and rest! Go, my Bulbasaur!"
A flash of red light recalled Magikarp, and in its place came her Grass-type ace, which had already evolved into Ivysaur.
This Ivysaur was a genuine level 16. Taking down a mere level 6 Rattata could not have been easier.
"Vine Whip!" Two thick, sturdy vines immediately shot out from the bulb on Ivysaur's back. With a crisp smack, the Rattata was sent flying before it could even cry out.

As she watched the experience notifications pop up at the bottom of the Screen, Wang Qiuer's pink-blue eyes were filled with satisfaction.
"This is perfect teamwork! The newcomer just needs to show its face and leech some experience, while the old employee does the actual work in the back." Wang Qiuer happily took a sip of juice.
