The farming craze at Origin Internet Cafe continued to heat up.
Though it lacked the fist-to-fist impact of God of War, the sense of accomplishment from Plants vs. Zombies—"watching your defenses stand impregnable"—held a different kind of magic.
Especially for certain customers with straightforward personalities or a particular obsession with firepower.
While Di Tian was still arguing with a sunflower over "the zombies ate your brains," Scarlet King, seated beside him, stared thoughtfully at the new plant on the Screen.
It was the Chomper.
On the Screen, a Buckethead Zombie wearing an iron bucket and boasting incredibly high defense marched forward menacingly. Ordinary Peashooters hitting it were like scratching an itch, producing metallic clangs.
But when it reached the Chomper.
Chomp!
The Chomper stretched out its neck and swallowed the full-health Buckethead Zombie whole in a single bite!
Bucket and all, down in one gulp.
"Roar?"
The eyes of Scarlet King's central head lit up, and the two smaller heads beside it leaned in as well.
"Interesting! One bite and it goes crunch!"
Scarlet King watched the Chomper puff out its cheeks and make wet chewing sounds, an interested expression appearing on its face. As a soul beast, it too preferred such simple, brutal ways of eating.
But Scarlet King soon frowned.
After eating one zombie, the Chomper actually entered a digestion period lasting dozens of seconds. During that time, it just kept chewing, completely ignoring the other zombies approaching behind it, and ended up getting bitten away in a few mouthfuls.
"Woof! That's way too useless!"
Scarlet King could not help slapping the table. All three heads let out dissatisfied growls at once:
"After eating one, it needs half the day to digest? What a terrible appetite!"
"If I went up there, all three heads would get to work
