"Here it is." He "looked" toward a spot where the village ancestral hall should normally have stood.
Yet what stood there was not an ancestral hall, but an earthen temple.
The building was made of mud. On a short wooden table sat a clay idol, a person tall, posed with a long halberd in hand as though holding up the heavens. It had been molded from clay without any paint, its yellow-brown surface draped in several layers of cobwebs.
No matter how one looked at it, it was desolate and dilapidated.
The only touch of brightness was probably the several bowls of offerings before the idol. The dishes and fruit looked fresh, but Lu Qing caught a rotten stench.
With one step, he shortened a thousand meters of distance. In an instant, he went from the village entrance to the earthen temple his Divine Soul's eyes had seen.
This idol was strange.
No matter what, the idol within a temple was naturally the focus of attention.
