There had once been a period in the cultivation world when many cultivators kept a special eye out for such things. After all, what cultivator could remain unmoved by the words "heavenly treasures and earthly rarities"?
That was only natural, but snow spirits and medicine spirits were not things one could find simply by looking. Only places weathered by the passage of time might harbor one or two.
And usually, the odds of finding those heavenly treasures and earthly rarities were even lower than the odds of a cultivator emerging from among tens of millions of people.
So after some time, people had found medicine spirits and the like, but most of their searches for heavenly treasures and earthly rarities came up empty.
Later, since they had already found these medicine spirits and snow spirits anyway, they put them in their own herb gardens to cultivate treasure herbs and spiritual herbs. After all, medicine spirits and snow spirits were supernatural creatures born of heaven and nourished by earth, unlike other creatures that transformed into spirits or monsters. They naturally attracted spiritual energy, and though they were not as effective as spirit veins, they were hardly chicken ribs-something of little value, yet a shame to discard.
Snow spirits came in countless strange forms, but they all shared one trait: upon encountering a person, they would flee from where they stood, like a cicada shedding its shell, leaving behind a skeleton of ice and snow.
This was also the easiest sign by which to recognize places where snow spirits appeared.
It was hardly surprising that snow demons and the like appeared here too.
After all, this was a place of cultivation.
And why were people still willing to tell the story here even after it had been repeated a hundred times?
