Alvin walked into Alexander Pierce's conference room. This was where Pierce held his meetings.
The space, which covered several hundred square meters, had been rearranged. A small table stood in the center.
That would be where Natasha faced questioning in a little while. Alvin had seen the "Real Space" created by the Laser Projection, but the lonely little table still looked a bit pitiful.
As he watched two security guards stuff Alexander Pierce into a Body Bag and prepare to carry him away, Alvin finally remembered that the man had once gone to Hell's Kitchen and tried to make him hand over the Tesseract.
Alvin whistled and summoned a Flying Sword to give the dead old man a quick jab. Then he looked at the astonished Natasha and said with a grin, "People like him need to be really dead before you can feel safe. Just like that ugly bastard Nick Fury..."
Natasha pressed her lips together, thinking with some sympathy of her former boss, who was recuperating in a miserable bomb shelter. She'd known Alvin would figure out Nick Fury wasn't dead...
"Nick Fury made a decision, but I'm guessing you're not interested in hearing what he plans to do!"
Natasha smiled as she walked toward the little table. She glanced back at Alvin and asked, "How do I look? Would making myself look a little more haggard get those bigwigs to feel more sorry for me?"
Alvin went over to Alexander Pierce's liquor cabinet, found a bottle of Whiskey, and poured himself a drink. Then he looked at Natasha and said with a grin, "You could stuff a pillow under your shirt. Pregnant women always get a little special treatment...
"I knew a girl named Anna who managed to live quite comfortably that way..."
