"And I can't stand the thought of leaving Hell's Kitchen exposed to that kind of danger just because I've gone to fight on an alien world. My family is there!"
As he spoke, Alvin raised the Space Ring on his left hand. "I can get back at any time, from anywhere. But we all understand how brutal war can be. One moment of distraction on my part could lead to enormous losses, and I couldn't live with that."
