Alvin heard General Ross's announcement and suddenly felt that the overbearing bastard of a general wasn't quite so unlikeable after all...
Though he wasn't sure how Carol had tapped into the secure communications channel...
Maybe this woman who glowed all over had some special ability.
But Alvin didn't care that she'd heard the conversation.
There wasn't anything that needed to be kept from "people," anyway...
In response to Carol's "meddling," Alvin smiled and said over the comms, "General Ross, your hearing's pretty good.

General Ross fell silent for a long while, then said helplessly, "'Captain Marvel' Mar-Vell brought America's space program almost to a standstill.
This woman stole our only experimental aerospace craft.
She turned the American Air Force's last hope into a pipe dream..."
Before General Ross could finish, Carol said in a low voice, "The craft's energy system was based on the Tesseract.
Mar-Vell built it. Humans can't harness the Tesseract's energy..."
Before General Ross could reply, Alvin was already laughing in exasperation...
From a personal standpoint, watching the screwed-up American military get taken for a ride was actually pretty satisfying...
But from humanity's point of view, it didn't sit right!
"Ms. Danvers, whether or not humanity could make use of that craft,
