Attilan was not a small city...

A hemispherical, pale blue force field covered an area of roughly twenty kilometers across on the moon...

These Inhumans had developed a grotesque city on the moon.

The ground was dotted with exquisite, high-tech buildings, and at the center of the city stood a forest park filled with plants.

The Inhumans who had awakened their superpowers could enjoy a leisurely, high-quality life in this low-density city. They didn't even need to do much work...

Because most of the work was done by the commoners living underground...

They handled planting, gathering, mining, processing, and a whole range of other tasks below ground...

From the looks of it, the Inhumans' living space had been carved out by those commoners.

Attilan's force field was actually spherical. For every bit of space above ground, there was an equal amount below.

But the underground could be divided into layers. Generation after generation, the Inhumans' unawakened commoners had dug out a vast living space in the darkness below.

They worked themselves to the bone to support the Inhumans above who had awakened their superpowers, all the while hoping the next generation would produce an Awakened who could change their family's fate.

The Inhuman race had developed in a grotesque way, but their limited living space left them no room to expand outward. The result was exploitation within their own society.

Every hundred years or so, they would erupt into civil war to reduce the population and balance the ecosystem.

All of this was controlled by the Inhuman Council...

Every king of Attilan knew what he was up against. So when Maximus launched his rebellion with his "ideals," Black Bolt had decisively withdrawn from the struggle for the throne.

He hoped his younger brother really could open up a new path
