Alvin sat in the stands, watching the kids below laugh and horse around...
He nudged Old Cage beside him, feeling a little wistful, and said with a smile, "A little disappointed?
The kids solved the problem themselves..."
Old Cage rubbed his nose and smiled. "That's a good thing. It means they're more mature than we thought.
"I was always worried about that girl Sharina. She couldn't focus on her studies at all, and she had a terrible attitude...
"But it looks like she has her good points after all. At least she didn't shirk her responsibility.
"Her pair of idiot parents haven't shown up since the first day of school...
"Those rich folks just dump their 'hopeless' kids on us. They never even try to discover their children's good qualities for themselves."
Alvin smiled and nodded. "But they paid the full tuition. What is there to complain about?
"I believe in the power of the group. Even the bad ones will change as their environment changes...
"Let them spend a few years here and kick some bad habits. That'll be worth the tuition they paid.
"They're not short on money, anyway. If their kids can't become 'talented,' then at least they can become decent 'people'!"
Old Cage gave Alvin a disdainful look. "In your eyes, talent means passing exams?
"Sharina has excellent social skills that many students lack. Not just any student who's been here for less than half a year could organize so many people to work together on something!
"We should rethink our approach and give students with special talents a chance.
"With a strong enough résumé, she could get into a good university too!"
Alvin wasn't particularly keen on this sort of opportunistic approach...
But he really wasn't an expert in that area. Old Cage was nearly
