Principal Alvin shut down the communication projection, dug the "timer" out of the altar by its roots, and stuffed it into his backpack along with the mirror.
He had no idea that as he acted, astronomical observatories all over the world had observed almost simultaneously that a fleet had suddenly appeared fifteen million kilometers from Earth and was rapidly approaching.
Clearly, that "Corn God" hadn't been bluffing. He really had treated the divine artifact as his protective charm.
Unfortunately, he had underestimated humanity's current strength and determination!
Alvin had deliberately sent his conversation with the "Corn God" to the bigwigs for them to hear.
For one thing, he truly had no authority to decide on war by himself. Without the cooperation of everyone else, it would be difficult to guarantee the consequences.
