Principal Alvin watched a puff of gray smoke rise from Peter's mouth. He looked at Nick and cursed, "What the hell is going on?"
Nick high-fived Pietro in celebration, then tipped the Electroshock Device against the brim of a nonexistent cowboy hat. "It's Old Cage's orders!
"The Punisher's Office doesn't have any leverage over these graduates anymore, so Old Cage hired us to keep an eye on those guys who want to go fight in the city. He's paying us twenty bucks an hour."
Nick craned his neck to look at the miserable Peter and Harry, then grinned proudly at Pietro. "We should come up with a cool name for our team. 'Spider Killers' or 'Wandering Knights Busters'—I think either one would work.
"It's a real shame your sister wouldn't join us. Her witch's potions would make us a whole lot more intimidating."
Harry painfully rolled off Peter, and the two of them lay side by side on the battered car's roof. He looked at Little Harry and Ginny, who were laughing on the school building, and said miserably, "I knew these little brats were all troublemakers..."
Peter turned his head and spat out a puff of gray smoke. He glared angrily at Pietro and Nick. "You're both dead!
"I've graduated. You'd better watch your backs whenever you're out walking from now on."
Alvin noticed the bright red armbands with their distinctly Chinese style on Nick and the others. He rolled his eyes and smacked Peter on the head. "Buddy, you're in trouble!
"Shouldn't you be taking care of yourself first?"
Peter wiped his smoking hair and gave Alvin an awkward grin. "Principal Alvin, we've graduated.
"You said that as long as we graduated and got into college, we could do whatever we wanted."
