In the broadcast van, Alvin carefully avoided the gay man who was dressed in women's clothes and looked even more feminine than a woman.
He squeezed through a passage formed by several supermodels, silenced the phone buzzing with random thoughts in his pocket, and looked at the broadcast director at the control console. "Do we still have the footage I shot just now?"
The middle-aged broadcast director, temporarily borrowed from ABC Television, fiddled with the controls and said, "We've got everything from the past five minutes. To be honest, your camera work could use some improvement. I suggest bringing a camera support next time.
"Oh, the higher-ups at our station asked me to see if you'd be interested in hosting your own show.
"Something like today's prank show!
"Our boss is really interested in these entertaining 'Humanity Test' programs."
Alvin glanced back at the supermodels with their voluptuous figures. He smiled and shook his head. "Testing men with pretty girls like these is meaningless.
"It's like testing women with sports cars and money...
"The world's already like this. Let's try to preserve a few beautiful things!"
The middle-aged broadcast director looked back at the sexy supermodels and nodded in heartfelt agreement. "Exactly. These beauties should only appear in our dreams.
"If they showed up in real life, my old ball and chain would wake me up with a wrench. A divorce lawsuit like that would leave me bankrupt.
"That fear's always hanging over me. I never forget an anniversary..."
Alvin gave the guy a sympathetic look. "You're a man who knows how to live. Looks like you'll have to keep 'knowing how to live' for a while yet.
"But you seem like a decent guy. If you ever get into trouble, I can recommend a reliable lawyer."
