As Talos muttered in despair, the image of Alvin on the communicator in front of him suddenly blurred. An Iron Man Armor walked into view, knocking on its own head.
Seeing Talos's devastated expression, the Iron Man Armor tossed several dismantled devices onto the ground and spread its hands. "Hello, my name is JARVIS. The energy-overload devices you set up are very complicated, but they're not difficult to dismantle..."
As he spoke, the AI opened a gap in the faceplate and stuck a metal piece shaped like a cigar inside. In Alvin's voice, he said, "You filthy maggots! You rats in the sewers all deserve to die!"
Talos stared wide-eyed at the Iron Man Armor on the screen and said in disbelief, "You tricked me? Alvin isn't even inside the Pyramid?
You actually dared to lie to me? How could you..."
The poor guy looked like the second male lead in a melodrama who'd been dumped, reaching out as he let out the wail of a loser...
Before he could finish, the impatient Jessica brought down the Rolling Pin in her hand—which had been unable to find a target until now—hard on his wrist.
Nick, who'd been watching Talos, jumped at the spray of bone fragments. He hopped backward and stared in horror as Jessica did the same to Talos's other hand.
"Jess, are you crazy? If you think he's annoying, you should hit him in the mouth...
Oh, damn it, I think I swallowed something..."
Jessica glanced at Nick, who was spitting repeatedly, then looked with disdain at Talos, kicking and screaming like a frog on a grill. "If we don't make him scream, we won't seem cruel enough."
As she spoke, Jessica thrust the half of the Rolling Pin still in her hand into Talos's only intact leg.
