At Alvin's teasing, Norman Osborn smiled and said, "You have to understand how these people think. They can't accept someone else controlling their supply route.
"Developing a permanent route is more valuable to them."
Looking at the human camp, where gunfire rang out everywhere, Norman Osborn smiled and said, "Compared to what they stand to gain, losing a few people is nothing."
In the distance, a Gluttony Demon broke through the wall of a barracks, crushing two soldiers hiding inside beneath the rubble.
Alvin waved a hand and sent a bolt of lightning at the Gluttony Demon, electrocuting the fat, greasy thing until it was nothing but charred remains.
A tall Black Man leading a squad of fellow soldiers was just about to help the two unlucky men when the lightning startled him.
He wore Warhammer armor but no helmet. He had an Electromagnetic Rifle, but carried a blade instead.
The Black Man glared at Alvin with yellowed eyes, then flinched and pretended not to recognize the three bigshots. He called loudly to the people around him, and together they lifted the wall and rescued the two injured soldiers.
Just as they were about to leave, two Goatmen came around the back of another barracks, hefting hammers.
The Black Man told his comrades to go on ahead, then charged the Goatmen with his blade. Without much effort, he hacked both of them into chunks of meat.
His actions caught Alvin's attention. There was something familiar about the man.
He was incredibly strong, and his body was unusually tough. At the very least, a Goatman's hammer could hit him in the head without hurting him.
That reminded Alvin of his buddy JJ. He had served in the military, then undergone modifications in a Secret Prison, which had changed his body dramatically.
