Chapter 2080: The Trap
Just as Nate realized what was happening and was about to tell his companions to retreat, several SUVs came speeding over from the road, quickly surrounding them and the cabin.
Nate watched as a group of men in black suits climbed out of the vehicles with guns. He grabbed Elliot, who was about to fight back, then raised his hands to show that he was surrendering.
After the men in black had secured the scene, a refined-looking middle-aged man got out of one of the vehicles and slowly walked up to Nate and the others.
The middle-aged man seemed to dislike the smell of the place. Covering his nose with one hand, he waved the other to signal his men to herd Nate and the others into the cabin.
Back in the living room, Nate and the others stood obediently where they were. They had no idea how they'd been found—or how the money had disappeared...
Nate didn't seem afraid of the situation. He glanced at the cold-faced men in black, then turned to Sophie and asked, "Did you call Alvin? Now's the time to ask for help..."
Sophie gritted her teeth and shook her head. "My phone's in my bag, and I'd never beg a despicable person for help. Right now, I just want to stab him..."
As Sophie spoke, the middle-aged man in charge entered the cabin, covering his nose.
Taking in the sparse furnishings and old appliances, he made what he thought was a clever joke. "People who just stole three billion dollars shouldn't be staying somewhere like this..."
