Lynch, who had ignited Divine Fire, looked at Alvin as if he were an idiot. The sudden newcomer didn't seem like anything special, but his boasts were downright absurd.
And those two speakers, endlessly blaring the soundtrack from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, made the whole thing seem completely ridiculous.
As someone trying to escape with his life, Lynch had no time to waste talking to Alvin...
As a dozen or so men dropped from the sky, Lynch didn't spare a thought for the two unlucky ones who had fallen to their deaths. He merely glanced at the "angel warriors" slowly descending overhead, then waved to his men. "Sloane, cover us! Everyone else, follow me!"
Alvin didn't mind being underestimated. But Barry was riding a Flying Motorcycle with Sloane, risking their lives against the "angels," and Alvin still had to do something about that.
Sloane's marksmanship was so good it put Alvin to shame. As the Flying Motorcycle sped through the air, every one of Sloane's bullets found the head of an "angel warrior."
Even when struck by bullets, the "angel warriors," silver Radiance wings sprouting from their backs, still felt pain.
Without Heaven's protection, these Einherjar from Vanaheim could only inhabit human bodies to keep their power from dissipating. When their hosts were wounded, the pain was reflected in the Einherjar's souls as well.
Sloane's actions enraged them. Several Einherjar whose hosts had been destroyed broke free of their bodies and revealed their true forms.
Several Radiant Angels with outstretched silver wings swooped like giant eagles toward the Aerial Motorcycle Barry was riding.
Barry wasn't particularly brave. Faced with enemies like these, all he could do was curse and turn the motorcycle toward Alvin, hoping the Boss would help him out since his Girlfriend worked for him.
