Johnny stopped the reckless Ruben and Johnson. He watched RoboCop Murphy perform a stylish powerslide, bringing his motorcycle to a stop right in front of him.
Murphy watched Johnny push open the door and get out. In his hoarse voice, he said, "Chief George sent me to keep an eye on you and make sure you don't get into trouble you can't handle."
As he spoke, Murphy looked at a police car approaching from Hell's Kitchen. In a low voice, he said, "I don't know how you got the orders or how you persuaded Chief George to support your operation.
"But coming to Hell's Kitchen to cause trouble while Principal Alvin is getting married really isn't a good idea.
"There are a lot of questions surrounding Adam's wanted notice. His file was classified and sealed...
"Mr. Stone, have you really thought this through?"
Johnny looked at Murphy's gaunt face and said, utterly helpless, "We've been given a mission. Catching criminals against humanity is our job.
"Principal Alvin doesn't seem to mind law enforcement entering Hell's Kitchen to do its job."
Murphy fell silent for a moment, then nodded. "That's right. If you make a mistake, own up to it. You can run, you can resist, but you can't attack the police unprovoked.
"That's the rule Principal Alvin laid down for Hell's Kitchen. But are you sure you're ready?
"I'm only here to supervise. I'm not helping you catch anyone, especially when the person you're after is a guy who stands on rooftops every night, escorting people home."
Murphy's words, along with the slowly approaching police car, prompted everyone from Superhero Company to get out of their vehicles.
