When Alvin saw the so-called "corpse," it was nothing like the seafloor fossil he had imagined.
He had thought it was the corpse of a humanoid creature surrounded by coral and seaweed.
But the thing before him, covered in coral and shellfish and nearly five meters tall, had nothing to do with humans.
Whatever it was, Alvin was certain it wasn't human...
Alvin walked into the hall and circled it once. The corpse still had a roughly humanoid shape. Judging by its posture, it had probably died sitting on the seabed with its back against a boulder, one leg extended and the other bent.
Compared to Alvin's surprise, Zhang Qiang and the white-coated researchers he'd brought along reacted very differently.

Holding up the short sword, which was barely a foot long, Alvin said incredulously, "This thing isn't even as long as his finger. How did you decide they were all from the Gonggong Horde?"
Zhang Qiang raised a hand to stop Alvin's questions. After repeatedly confirming the coordinates Nemo II had given him, he sent them to Headquarters and solemnly stressed that the best resources had to be allocated to Seafloor Exploration...
Once Zhang Qiang had finished making arrangements, he turned to Alvin and said, "We've talked about this before. This sword is 'alive.' Not alive in some
